About halfway down Mexico’s Pacific Coast lies a 200-acre (80-ha) guest ranch with over 300 species of birds listed on eBird. Rancho Primavera offers a network of trails, ponds, and meadows with accommodations for groups and independent travelers. The ranch is just an hour south of Puerto Vallarta but worlds away from Vallarta’s busy beaches and resorts. Steve Shuhk and his girlfriend, Lizzy Martinez, moved to the ranch in January 2024, and they now serve as resident naturalists, offering guiding services for ranch guests.
